CurZ: Are you happy with Gentoo's support of security patches? (this is the biggest of my few and small complaints with Mandrake)
Otherwise, I am very happy with Mandrake; particularly the great ease of disk configuration and installation.
Yeah yeah, "but the French...". Hackers and nerds are just like hackers and nerds everywhere. These are my people and we understand each other. ;)

Maybe soon, but not right now...
:D
I wonder if Red Hat's decision has to do with SCO and their lawsuit?
Such BS, but maybe in the end, the GNU license will finally be legally recognized or not... once and for all.

[B]Aside from Biggles being my drug pusher (read: trying to get me to use Gentoo), I still am running Mandrake 9.1 release. I am SO pleased with it, that I haven't had the need (or the desire) to go through the effort for Gentoo...

I mainly like it because of how much I'm learning with it. With Mandrake, I found I wasn't really learning much.

I think it's more likely that the realised they can make lots of money from selling support to big corporations, so it's better to put all their effort into developing a distro for that rather than one for home desktop users. I'm not too worried, since I think that a juggernaut in the corporate area is needed and that companies like Mandrake are doing a far, far better job at making a good, easy to use linux distro than Red Hat ever did.
