Blended planets

BIG file, 300K in size, you will need to scroll over to view all the planets. (there are four of them)

I'm enjoying this alot, more on the way for certain.
pure blender renders, no external stuff done to them.
Aside from the earth map, all textures are my own

    Right decent work, A#.
The atmosphere is showing an interesting effect on Earth and the last planet, in that the center is clear, almost as if there is a hole in it, forming a hazy ring around the edge of the planet.
  • Saw it at SFM

Nice, but the cloud textures being the same on Earth and the farthermost planet is a bit obvious.

    Very pretty :)

What did you use to make the textures on the non-earth planets?

Plus, as far as I know, Terragen does landscapes, not planet maps. I believe A#### mentioned Lunercell, the popluar Photoshop planet-making program.
  • terragen + photoshop for em. :)

    I told ya so.....
  • well, I used to use lunacell, but then I relized that it NEVER made a nice planet I could use...so I used terragen..HIGH res. works VERY well, and takes about 10 minutes to render off a 10K map. :)
