I sent in for my absentee ballot, which finally arrived a couple days ago... in Fresno. I applied for an absentee ballot precisely because I'm not currently in Fresno. Morons....

Gubinator = Arnold
Gumby = Davis
Busdimentia = Bustamante

I'm so sick of this trash politics going on out here that I am going to vote for Arnold. He's middle of the road (like I am).

Between Davis's mudslinging, Bustamante's love for sucking in money from casinos and defiance of court orders, and the circus that a canadate with less than 2% of the vote is doing her best to make of this process, I'm just fed up with it.

Inside Edition(1) apparently dug up outtakes from "Pumping Iron," today-- there was no mention of Nazism in it, but I found another clip more interesting:

HE said that he thought America was the best country in the world, except for one thing. He felt it's people did't really have a strong, charismatic leader since Kennedy was assasinated...there was noone in office for people to look up to.

In another outtake, he said "I feel that all people are equal...black, yellow, white, jewish, man, woman..it's all the same...this is just what I believe."

Wow. Imagine that.

I guess I just think, "Why in the world would a man with all he has give it all up to jump into this sewer?"

Could he possibly mean what he says?

:eek:

-R.

(1) I don't normally watch Inside Edition, but it's shocking that they are one of the few media outlets to bother looking at this film to see what his views were back in '75.

I really do wonder if theres anyone in the Cally elections worthy of the title 'candidate'...

we get a rather filtered version here, and of course all the media are interested in are the 'circus' candidates... the strong man.. Arnie.. the midget... Coleman... the trapeze artist/bimbo...whose name fortunately I cannot remember...its a shame, there should be a bearded lady... transvestite pro-action person... sigh...

anyways I guess this is for the State where Hollywood is... enough said I guess

There are really only three candidates of note in this election, and those are Arnold, Bustamante, and McClintock. I don't even see why Huffington is considered newsworthy; she never had a significant running in the polls, and nobody ever seriously expected her to win.

I'd like to take this time to write up my opinion of the California gubernatorial (such a silly sounding word) race, in the form of an open letter.

Dear Californians,
Thanks for making our state no longer the laughing stock of american politics. We owe you one.

Sincerely,
the people of Florida
• I'd sign it!!!

hehehe

It's Arnold for me as well...

I'm not going to belabor the reasons...

They're mine, and that's enough...

;)

Aye, I also marked down Arnold. No telling whether the ballot will get in in time to be counted, though.

that's exactly what I couldn't figure out..... anyone who runs for anything anymore invites a nightmare of slander, accusations, and whatever other crap that could be used against them. it'll be a mess this next presidential race.... the best way for a dem to make their mark in the party is going to be a slime campaign against bush, and I'm sure the republican's will do their thing back....

my guess he's already had the top of his current game, he prolly knows hes no character actor who is going to be able to act till he's 80 plus, octegenerians dont make good action heroes. Hes not likely to be able to get into directing or producing either... so where do old actors go to pasture ?

Reagan being a good example... into politics, no point in wasting that nice high profile...heh... as a side note, I wonder if some poor unfortunate US navvies are going to end up sailing around in the USN Swartzenegger... if we follow the Reagan example to the end, (albiet Arnie being precluded from being the Prez cos hes Austrian).

fame and power... what else could a guy want ? :D

and no... I dont think Arnie has a single idealistic bone in his body, he's not going into power to serve the people if you think as I do.
• Rogue TraderRogue Trader Somebody stop him...
no politician goes into politics to invite all the crap they sling. and there only reason isnt serving the people its the power and prestige it brings.

BUT i do believe that all politicians at one point did want to do something, to make things better through what they believe.

Idealistic? Yes. But i do believe it, even if they do for only a second or two.
