Return Of The King, the new epic tale of Elvis' return from Uranus.
Hail to the King, baby.
Hmm... Maybe I should've left that last part out.. but it's gotta be the complete Bruce Campbell quote...
Still, got nuttin' to fear from you. Unless you decide to start fightin' for real. ;)
the quality of that trailer is just awful, but it was still kick ass to see. GONNA BE AWESOME!
Was there ever any doubt? FotR rocked, even though it was sort of the "Set-everything-up" movie. TT kicked complete and total ass, even though the 2nd in a trilogy is always the weakest. RotK is going to be pants-wettingly awesome. Ushers will be handing out towels at the door. :D

The Empire Strikes Back.

Not compared to the book. I loved FOTR, but in the TT they took a few too many liberties. The battles were cool, but I don't like how they portrayed the rohirrim at helms deep as screwed if it weren't for the elves.

Yeah, they kinda were screwed. Besides, as loyal as Jackson has been to the films (for the most part), he still needs to make this film fun to watch for non-Tolkein geeks like us.

Yeah I know they were in trouble, but the last stand was made entirely by the rohan, and they were finally relieved by other rohhirim. Thats just one of the things that bothered me. I agree its a small differnce if your not a fan of the book but it seems to me it woulda been much more dramatic if the entire battle was a desperate last stand by the warriors of rohan.
And as for the trailer WOW!!! You can see it much larger if you download it and then maximize quicktime. ROTK is gonna be awesome.
And I allready have my ticket to the Tripple Feature on dec. 15th :)
You lucky devil you. If only I didn't have exams that week and work in retail. Its gonna be all I can do to see ROTK when it comes out. :(
It seems PJ has a problem with too much chivalry. Both Theoden and Faramir are made less noble than they appeared in the books.
Oh, well, looking forward to ROTK, anyways, and the extended TT DVD. Perhaps it will make more sense, like the extended FOTR DVD.

Exactly, Farimir came across as a thug Theoden as an indecisive wimp. I won't even go into the exorcism scene with Gimli, Aragorn, and Legolas running around punching people out.
On a side note did anyone else picture Theoden as much older in the books? I always saw him as some Nestor type figure.

Again, prof. Tolkien wrote a lot of letters to fans in his late days. In one of those, he stated that elves were present during the siege of helms deep.
Please read the whole thread.
My main complaint with TT is that they wimped out Faramir. The whole scene where Sam is in Osgiliath, amking his "We don't belong here" speech, I'm thinking "You're right! You should already be on the road to Minus Morgul!"
There will be scenes that kinda give a reason for Faramir wanting to take the two to his father. He wants to be recognised by him...

I did read that, sounded kinda weird though. Thats sort of a major detail to leave out of the book.

That's what I thought too.
