Just the truth, old boy... ;)

Hey, I don't for a minute make generalizations about the US military, it's just unfortionate that people have this perception of them being "jar-heads". Personally, I'd only talk from experience, and I agree with you. I've chatted with a former US Army Ranger over the internet, and he was a pretty well-informed guy.

Regards,
Morden
Its because most of the military is still from a rural background, and they are above all else amazingly plain spoken, forthright and practical minded, peoples more "refined".. oh hell most suburbanites are full of shit, anyways the more "refinined" sensibilities get offended by that.

frankly its actualy a true manifestation of classism and elietism, that an amazingly large amount of liberals seem to hold, and its directed at those people such as police and the military. They dont realize that one of the critical things holding society togeather, is the consent of those individuals who serve, to support the society, in the face of those who dont consent and are merely motivated by coersion.

and wow, Im tired and Ive been drinking I should go to bed.

Just so it's clear, the address should look like this:

CPT Aaron Luck
B/2-327 IN
Unit 96024
APO AE 09325-6024

With that cleared up, can someone explian what exactly Captain,Simmonds is rambling about?
Simmonds is being.. difficult and obnoxious, seems to be that he believs servicemen are all trigger happy rednecks.

oh speaking of such things, if anybody bitches about the amount of times I posted, Im gonna go all trigger happy redneck over them, Ill fix it when Im awake!
• Tyvar, I agree 100% with everything you've said. (Except maybe for the invade Canada thing, despite my fondness for bacon.) ;)

No worries on your multiple posts as well, if you've got something valid to say, say it.

Simmonds, until you have a f*cking clue what you are talking about, please refrain from posting about this subject. My grandfather served in WWII in the Marines. IF not for our men who died (ours, meaning all allied forces) you'd be speaking german now.

My uncle served in Vietnam in the 1st air Cav. Guess what, the war finally killed him last yeat. He fought the cancer from Agent Orange, but in hte end it was too much. You know how many other thousands have died since the end of Vietnam. It is terrible the way they were treated when they came home (if they made it home).

Simmonds, you must realize that the military is not a political body in the way you seem to think it is. They may not even support half the policies they are expected to inforce. I can guarantee you that there are many American "trigger happy rednecks" in Iraq who would love to be anywhere else, and who dispise the war. So dont generalize, and until you learn some facts STFU.

Actually, the Germans were being massacred by the Russians already, and wouldnt have stood a chance against an eastern invasion. When the American and English troops started advancing, Germany had already lost.

Hence. We would be speaking Russian, not German, had the English speaking troops not arrived (I dont really know about that even, since we dont speak english here now).

Anyway, I dont believe your ancestors are being challenged here. I think Simmonds is speaking about the United States Army as a whole. I am amased every time people read too much into a small post. This is one of those times. Calm down people.

Simmonds' statement was broad enough to cause offense, past and present. If he only meant the US Army of today, I think he would have specified so. He had every oppertunity to re-phrase or rectify his comment, but he didn't.

Actually I think he was just running his mouth off for the sake of getting a few cheap hits in about something he's obviously biased against and has no real knowledge about other than outdated stereotypes and anti-americanisms.

But thats just me.

Yeah, it wasnt american blood that won that war, it was american steel

and it wasnt tanks or planes, although the US provided Russia with about 20 to 30 percent of its arsenal in both of those catagories..

nope, it was the fact that we provided like 60 perecent or more of the real war winners! trucks!, ahh god bless GMC and Peterbuilt ;)
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
This may be true. I havent read enough about the subject.

The US armed forces are nothing but a pile of Trigger happy red necks.
*EDIT*

And what sickens me the most, is that they get away with it.
I have one thing to say about such an uneducated pile of bull pucky. I know several people...people I care a great deal for...who are in the U.S. Armed Forces, and all of whom I would consider very good and close friends. Without exception, they are all amazingly intelligent, kind and polite people. They run the gamut from programmer/system administrator/Marine rifleman to enginer/draftsman(woman)/Air Force flight navigator to US Army light infantry to US Army infantry to US Army helicopter pilot...and the list goes on.

Your comment offends me. Your continued inability to grasp the concepts and events of this world in anything other than sweeping generalities offends me. Your irrational tirades, rants and raves against all American offends me. Your inability to grasp the simple concept of tact offends me. Your complete lack of a clue and painting of all members of the US Armed Forces as trigger happy rednecks rather than the hard-working good people they tend to be...offends me. Your thoughtless insult of many of my good friends who happen to serve the country of my birth and residence to pay it back for all the freedoms they've enjoyed...offends me. To sum it up...you offend me.

That said, even though you are not of this country, I support your right to make a complete and utter jackass of yourself, time and time again. Go at it, and enjoy.

Just try actually learning something about which you speak, rather that spewing forth this uneducated garbage, next time you post. That could work wonders for your reputation here.

If I recall correctly, are not the Dutch looking at some war crimes acusations for even activly semi helping the Serbs? facilitating what was essentialy a round of up most of the male population, and then handing them over to the serbs.

Yeah, I have alot of faith in the UN.

Trouble with that i think is that us Brits would probably just turn around and head back out there! Why? Because our armed forces are some of the best in the world!

Heh. I had some stuffed chicken I made a couple of days ago...boneless chicken breast pounded flat and rolled with a stuffing of Italian dried sausage finely chopped, bread crumbs, garlic, egg to bind it and Italian dressing to moisten it. Then, cover it with a can of whole canned tomato and bake while covered with foil.
