We've been contacted by a guy workin at the magazines PC Gaming World & PC Gaming Hardware World. The magazines are published in the UK and Europe. They want to include the Ingame mod on their next cover DVD(s). :) They also wanted us to express our view about including future mods in their DVDs as well. Apparently he is quite a B5 fan himself.
They won't write about it (they generally don't write about mods) , other than list it among their other mods (perhaps with a small description), but I'd imagine people will want to check out our site after seeing the mod.
They want a response by friday since their deadline is approaching. So, are you ok with this Logic? Or need I even ask? :p
A quote: "although given its massive size compared to what we usually run, it may go on the Hardware disc first as we like the beautiful looking, graphically impressive stuff on there first." ;)
Of course, there is and has always been the risk factor in fame: WB suits might come and tell us to shut down - a fact he mentioned as well - but I'd say its a risk worth taking.

I have no objections (not my mod) and if WB will come then they will. At least we aren't making any money from InGame, only the magazine makes money. It's hard to answer to that question "our view about including future mods in their DVDs". Does that consern Buda5 mods or mods generally? I haven't ever even read that magazine.
The question about future mods was about Buda5 future mods - (such as the mission collection) - they'd like include those too.
He was also impressed by the international nature of our development team. :D
EDIT: u need to get online, i have questions, LOL
anyways, is fri the deadline for our answer? or for their publishing deadline? cause i can clean a few things up with ingame, make some cover art, etc... etc... i'd love to talk to them too... did they just email u? are they setting up a chat or anything?
EDIT:
P.S. i'd suggest no press releases about this until it pans out...we dont' want everyone expecting something and have it end up not happening...when we get confirmation, we can let everyone know :)
so what all is intealed? what exactly is going to be done? etc... etc... could u post the emails please?

Summary:
-he is downloading Buda5 for the third time now (two campaigns & ingame?) and is about to go buy IW2 after selling it.
-impressed by a worldwide team
-works with Computec media
-requesting permission to put Ingame on either or both dvds that ship with the two magazines and also asks about future Buda5 mods.
-would like to bring it to readers before WB decides what to do with it
-deadline approaching (friday), request reply asap
-rest in the faq
-mods listed, but not written about
Also, he doesn't really need a permission from anyone. He is just being polite. From a legal perspective anything we create that has to do with Babylon 5 is technically owned by WB.
4b) Anything involving large scale and long-lasting copyright (eg Star Wars, Star Trek or Harry Potter) could be shut down legally by those companies/creators at any time they wish. Generally anything revolving around existing copyrighted material, is something we would ask you about out of courtesy only, as the legal powers rest with the copyright holder even with fan material. (But if we really liked it we'd want you to say yes!)
but out of courtesy, since it was my project (ingame at least) i was just curious and would like to be involved... ;).
what did he mean by "before WB decides what to do with it?" just the implication they could sue? or is there actually something to that?
P.S.
i sent him an email but received no reply.. i'm assuming it's b/c he's busy.
EDIT:
assuming this all pans out, and since, if i read correctly, this will only be released in the uk/europe... could someone... buy few copies of the mags for me? lol family and friends have already expressed a desire to see it. i'll reimburse for the money of course...
He is not doing a secret interview about me and my future plans for world domination. :D
Didn't Joona Vainio from Pelit magazine interview you back in the EA-Minbari war campaign days if I'm not completely mistaken. I think I still have the article. What secrets you told him back then?:p

Hehe, PC Games, a big german magazine, too. But they didn't took a deeper look into FO/Buda5 as Alpha and me tried to show them the site (one year ago already).
Sad news everyone.... :( the magazine deal has been cancelled. Our contact within the magazine is no longer employed by said magazine and seemed to indicate that the deal was off. Whether this is just the CD, or our mention in the magazine was not specified. :(
you're just kidding, right?...How the hell I have this feeling you're not...
i don't know if that goes for the magazine mention as well.
So, it still could be possible that we get mentioned somewhere in the next magazine?
