Oh great collective Firstones Oracle...

shadow boxershadow boxer The Finger Painter & Master Ranter
.. answer my humble question...

I'm looking for a word that just flat out wont come out of my memory...

when one snaps the corner of one of those heatpacks...and then it gets all warm... that intial little shock of energy which releases all that potential energy is called 'what' energy ?

or the explosive charge which pushes two lumps of plutonium together is the triggering energy for a nuke... whats the sodding word for 'triggering energy' ?

or even simpler, when one splits the atom itself, all that potential energy is released by the electrons using 'x' energy... whats 'x' ?

sigh... my brain hurts.. :)

Damn, now you have me thinking and I cant think of it...
  • SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
I believe it's called "Initiation Energy", or "Initiation Charge" or something like that.
  • It is Initiation... I know I knew it the second you asked, but I just didn't know it. Our shitty science books call it the Energy of Intiation.
