My PC is experiencing trouble currently (as in SYSTEM ERROR PLEASE RESTART blares over the speakers when I turn it on), so I can't show it, but this is my bkg image (Greg Martin rocks!), only in 1024, and I've got this WindowBlind.
Currently, I have a black screen, of course...

You have a secure directory for your background image?
Yes, if you use Active Desktop and set an animated gif as your background image. Of course, then you get to kiss all your resources bye bye.
I once had a Flash wallpaper, one of those sound sensitive winamp 3D plugin thingys.
that was cool, but yea, ate up ALOT of resorces. :)

here's mine :) definately the best so far :p. if yer wondering why it's 1600x600 that's b/c it's on dual monitors.
Muahahahahhahaaa!!! Now I got a ever changeing desktop.
I took Biggles advice and now I got a animated gif as background. :D

You could also try Drempels. It looks really funky and it's a bit more intelligent about resource usage.
Actually the GIF doesn't slow down the system as much as I had thought. Still I won't bee keeping this desktop, but it's kind of cool to show to friends! :D
AOL freaking sux STOP I would rather use a freaking telegraphathingamajig than AOL STOP 30-year old beastiality directors use AOL to pick up 12-year old chicks STOP GET REAL INTERNET STOP

'Different'... no need for political correctness in this forum. It's FREAKISHLY RETARDED! Different as in it slows down online games, ceaselessly creates popups, sends goddamned CDs in the mail every other day, and is designed for the lowest common denominator of Human society, perhaps.

BTW, you DO relize that AOL READS the E-mails you send out, right? as well as monitoring all sites you visit, etc etc.
and I'm very serious, they DO it.
try this,
send an e-mail to someone and mention how much you hate AOL. See what happens. My neighbors wanted their first month of Cable internet free though AOL (And switch to another company after the first month) well, they sent an e-mail and mentioned that they didn't like AOL...lets just say they switched after about a week rather then a month.

ok, i'm not getting into a debate about why AOL is NOT all the things u people just said. i used to work for AOL customer service and AOL does NOT read yer emails or track the sites u visit, blah blah... they could f*ckin care less... that's shit people make up b/c they don't like aol for whatever reason.. blah blah.
i don't use aol as a browser, i use it to talk to people and for email (which by the way i might add it's damned near impossible to get a virus from AOL email unless u download an attachment YOURSELF that has one).
AOL does not ceaselessly create popups, have u used the newer versions? they have built in blockers for it that work better than any popup blockers i've seen.
AS i said, i don't use AOL as a browser, so it doesn't slow down any game or anything else i do online. and as for sending CD's, it's marketing, get over it.. use them as coasters, or make a wreath out of them, i did.
well, I'm speaking from experience, most likely they don't read every e-mail, but rather have a bot that scans all of the text for certain keywords.
I am serious, my neighbors sent out an e-mail saying they didn't like AOL, the very day they were getting calls and e-mails from AOL asking why, and what AOL could do to keep them as a customer!
