now THIS is interesting...

WHYWHY Elite Ranger
A huge universal ship size chart.

Has everything from a Shivan Sathanas to an imperial Executor SSD to the SDF-1 to the Gundam-esque space colony on the bottom.

It's interesting to see how the size of Bab 4 compares to the Lexx and the SSD...

    seen it

It's really neat, but some stuff is off.

Such as some of the alien ships from star trek. The romulan D'somethin'dex is supposed to basically be equal in volume to the E-D, but larger in size.

That aside, it's rather nice. I did find it interesting to compare the planetkiller to anything.

Those enterprises are way too small, I'm certain of it.
    B4 is pretty huge.
  • B4 is fheckin fat! And where's the Death Star?

And why is the thing on the bottom (9km) longer than an SSD?

    center habitat ring is 9Km.
  • Super Star Destroyer: 12.8Km
Island Two Space Colony: Approx. 9km

SSD is 1 2/3 screens wide, ITSC is just under 2.

    Yeah, that's a little odd.
  • And as I recall, and SSD is 12.81 km! Damn non-geeks trying to do something like this... :D

I didn't see the Starship Titanic, either. ;)

Anyway, it's amusing to see how the average Federation Starship sizes-up to an Omega. :p

Some of these aren't quite accurate. the Star Trek stuff is way out of proportion with some of the other...stuff.

He does have the death star :)

Its just on a different page - it's too big for that one. Go to the 100x or 2000x for them.

I think you are right about the Star Trek ships being out of scale - I think Ent D is about 1000m long. I wonder if he thought it was 1000ft.

The Enterprise D is around the 631m mark, I think. The Enterprise E is just over 700m or there abouts. I'm sure someone will have the exact figures from the technical manual.

Yeah, the Enterprise D (one UGLY muddafugga...) was much more equal in proportions than the E, which is longer in shape.

    Anyway, GOJIRAAAA!!!!

I think it's a creation from Babylon 5: Wars, the tabletop battle game. Of all the canon ships, it's the most convincing. :)

  • You mean non-canon?

Whatever. I've been unsure about the term for ages, I always though it meant something not actually featured in the show, but attributed to it, like the contents of the Psi-corps trilogy.

  • Canon = Officially recognized as part of the series by it's creators, I always assumed.
  • Right. So what would stuff like the Babylon 5 AOG ships be described as? I mean, they're kind of official, as they're done under liscence and approved by jms and Warner Bros. but they wern't in the series...
