Morden279... yep there's all that stuff right at the front of the Hyperion. But I think that saucer on the central tower is some kind of other sensor or maybe a communications device. I have a feeling its the main communications dish.
Btw I just watched the scene with the Nova... I spotted it straight away, it just vanished! Funny how you never see these things until someone points it out. Only then is it obvious.
Hmm, I'm still not convinced. The only way to be sure is to speak to the guy who designed all of the Babylon 5 ships himself; Luc Mayrand.
Yeah, I only spotted it when I was trying to make some screenshots with my DVD rom drive. When watching the scene beforehand, I didn't even notice that Nova in the background! ;)

Thanks. :) It was quite easy too. All I had to do was push up the brightness and contrast a bit, and what I was expecting to see immediatly obvious. Zooming in helps as well.
Here's the problem with that. The parts you labeled as the middle ring appear to be part of the topmost ring. I'll fetch more evidence later to support my failing case ;)

So you're saying that the part of ring 1 on the right of PDVD_063 is part of the top ring, which is quite clearly well to the right of it?
actually i noticed it.. i was the one that pointed it out to sanfam... i took about 100 screenshots during those few seconds we see the station (single frame by frame shots). i was modeling the station for buda5 and was working very intricately on the center details... while the change may be small and subtle, it is there. i only noticed it after pouring over the same photos for a few hours.

But why would they have two different models of the station, one with more rings than the other?

Haven't a clue, boss.
As we've seen already, ITB is chock-a-block with modelling inconstencies.
It may not be two seperate models as much as an element of the model either resized or removed, either accidentially or with some intention to improve the visuals of that specific scene.

Yeah, I see what you mean, Sanfam.
I expect the modellers thought they could get away with this, considering the scene goes by so fast. (For better viewing angles and all that.)

LOL! I think I remember noticing that last time I saw Severed Dreams. Any particular scene?
also in "endgame" after the first few shots of the god satellites, most of the remaing shots don't have the large missiles silo lids, the ones that flip up.
Just watched Severed Dreams, both the Churchill and the Alexander don't have turrets in the scene where they first open fire with their forward heavy pulse cannons.

The space base destruction scene goes by pretty fast, I'm suprised you noticed anything at all.
