I love steam powered stuff.
can you tell me about this car ?
In fact, based on the paint, I'd say it's probably a custom job with a slighty chopped roof and rear fender flares to boot. But boy, that thing is a beauty! :D It's just a beast of a vehicle.
Any more photos of it? If I could see the front end, I could pinpoint a year-range and perhaps a model.
Edit: Something to note. Look at the "liner" surrounding the rear windows. I believe that may be the remaining element of a Cairage (sp?) top, which leads me to believe it's a 98 Regency. Now, Look at some mid 70's olds, I've found a model which I believe to be a close match, with exception of the downward slope of the rear "fins": 1976 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency Sedan. You can see a photo of a good condition one in the link below.

A good example of the Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Lineage. Note the lines in this car, and how they were clearly extended. This car may have actually been a 1976 (Note the wheel wells and tail lights, specific to 1976, maybe onwards) 98 with a 1977 onwards rear end grafted onto it, but I'm not so sure.

A front-end photo should solve this.
btw. here is an other picture of the front
It doesn't match up with the 1976 Front end, but the 1976 rear end, with wheel well covers, flares, and all is clear. Now, it looks to me like a 1973's front end was strapped onto it, as defined by the turn signals in their rectangular boxes on the bottom. I'm not positive, though...
