    I think you underestimate the number and length of shipping runs, and overestimate the probability of containers falling off...

    Plus, containers are in ny way light. :D Some can be upwards of many dozen tons.

    Yah 10,000 containers is a really dubious number. I'd say it prolly closer to 1000, plus most of those most likely fall off at the dock when the ship is being unloaded.

    Actually the 10,000 number is on the low side, people dont realize how many ships, shipping runs and containers are out there, we are talking of MILLIONS of containers being moved around, and thousands of ship sailings, so its still a statiscly small number.
