Well, he's still around. He semi-regulars an IRC room I hang out in. Whenever he enters, discussions about naval forces begin or resume ;)

Dont get me started on Navies...

    anyways...

the length of this thread concerns me as much as anything. I do truly wonder if the world as a whole is going quite nuts. I mean seriously, it's like we've been doing such a fantastic job at cheating death by disease, disaster and misadventure that we've got no other option left to us but to go stark raving bonkers to reduce our populus...

I reckon mother nature is being enormously sublte with her Darwinism... seeing as we've stolen or destroyed most of her tools for thinning and weeding us humies out...

lol, The Ancient one was Commissioned back in the late 60's and it has been refited. And the other two are new;).

Canada has two Ancient ships(but there not realy combat ships) and a fleet of shity Helicopters that fall out of the sky. + we did have a few air craft carriers back in the day:)
  • BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
Yeah, the new ones are quite nice. They're both smallish frigates. They tend to get sent out on alternate missions (ie one will go while the other hangs around at home, then the first one will come back and the other will go replace it). At the moment they're alternating in the Gulf.

We may be getting some more ships, but they'll be smaller and designed only to patrol NZ's waters.
As for the airforce combat wing being axed: I'm just glad that there's nothing here worth invading without invading places like Australia first. :)

The problem is, I can't. Goddamnit. It's very bothersome being immortal at times. :p

Honestly speaking, either I've tried it too many times or thought about it too much, but I just dont have the needed fire burning inside me anymore. Now I really need a good friend, who'd stick a knife to my chest or guts. :D

Nah, I heard they had to decommission those. They've got a couple of fishing boats with outboard motors now. (I think they're still saving for the machine guns, though...)

Anyway What are the Chances of New Zealand or Australia getting Invaded in the first place?? slim to none,
The Sea Kings arent shitty, they are just getting to be over 30 years old damnit! those things werent ment to fly forever!
I know there not that shity, They where top of the line in the 50s and 60s. They are good consitering there still runing after 40 or so years of service.
So how about that French carrier, the Charles DeGualle
It looks prity sweet, and its fully operational. Has anyone seen the Future Carrier for the RN. ITs over 270 metres. BTW has anyone Noticed that U.S. ships tend to be over crewed.

One of there carriers has a crew of 5,000, while another carrier thats even bigger, has a crew of 1,000 or so.
