Yeah, it needs some trimming. Btw, did you concider the fact that turrets can only be seen at the first LOD level? Due to the size of the station you might not even get close enough for them to be seen.
yea i know, i may just make "points" they they'll fire from, lol.. and it's not even LOD 0, it's 5km.... station=8km long.. Hmmmmmmm DUH, not gonna see um! lol
@Turrets: Sry Logic, but i have absolutely no idea how to do this :/ .
@File Size: :D ... no further comment ;) ... when I look at UT2003 that comes with 3 CD's full of textures or have a look at the upcoming Doom3 or Deus Ex 2 then these 48MB are okay for such a great quality ;)

LOL i didn't mean cut it as in noticable things... (for sanfam who doesn't know) EOC uses the LOD, or Level Of Detail, system. the further away u zoom out from an object, the less detailed it becomes... there are 3 LOD levels, 0, 1, 2. level 0 is closest up, like in the pics, and in the case of the station, level 1 kicks in.... well when the station is about 2 inches long on your screen. so what i was gonna do, for the level 1 model is reduce texture sizes since yer not gonna notice anyways, thus save some Mbs. and to be honost i don't even think the station model ever switches to level 2, so i may not even include a model for level 2.
Well, I'm surpriused EoC uses such a system. From the looks of it, the game still has a surprising amount of potential in a number of areas. Seems to be a damn good engine :D

no visible change. the texture sizes were simply cut by 50% for the LOD1 and LOD2 levels. the station is barely 2cm long on your screen when it switches to LOD1, so there is no visible change at all.
as for a release... still a bug or two, very soon tho.

Its gorgeus, but should I put it in the ship pack or stick with the lo-res station? We'll certainly use in the campaign mission that starts from B5, but should it be optional in the ship pack?

I would be glad if you could replace the original Babylon5 station by Simon with Logic's Bab5 v2 station b/c I'm also using the station in my mission.
