Question for Randy

WORFWORF The Burninator
A few times you have mentioned that you are trying to get a TV series to be created. I am working on an idea that I would like to be created as a mini series and I've thought about approaching the BBC but I dont know what I need, I was wondering if you have any advice.

Also, I would like to know what I need to stop the BBC from stealing my idea and producing it without me.

    Firearms work...

    :)

Seriously, though, I'd assume that the fine country of England has the equivalent of a US copywrite in their intellectual property laws. What you may wish to do is a little "googling" on British copywrites, and find out how to submit your piece for a copywrite first.

Additionally, you could get a lawyer to write up a standard NDA, then have both documents stamped by a notary public to show the revision and content at the time.

These are what I did with S14, and what I will be doing with my latest venture as it matures.

Other than that, I'll just wait for Randy to chime in.

Hmm, perhaps I should do both. Thanks :)

NDAs are only neccessary for non-copywrited works-in-progress; meaning

"Once it's copywrited, a NDA is redundant and unneccessary."

    Kinda like "patent pending"

Hmm, since it will be quite some time before I'm ready to approach the BBC, I think I will save the money.

In that case, don't tell anyone about it till you have it ready for and have got a copyright. I'm not sure how it works with copyrights, but with patents as soon as something is in the public domain (ie you tell someone about it) you can't patent it anymore. Either way, you don't want to spread your idea around before you're ready and have someone else run with it and get to the copyright first.

Don't worry, I am going to keep the details of my idea secret. I don't mind if people know that I have one, as long as they dont know what it is. Anyway, I was wondering what I will need before I can try to sell it.

Half my ideas are kept so damn secret, I don't even know what they are...
