ME a teatcher??

C_MonC_Mon A Genuine Sucker
Something really cool happened to me today in school!
The school head master asked me if I want to become the computer teatcher. And the funny thing is that I'm still a student in that school!

Why this happened is because it's the basics I'll be learning, and the school isn't a computer school. They got only classes that learn the basics in windows, internet and office. And why the headmaster chose me was because I'm studying at the same time to become a datanom. A Datanom is someone who knows about how company and it's financial stuff works, but still nkows alot about how computers, windows, network, internet and office work.

It's not for 100% I'll get to be a teatcher, but still pritty COOL he asked me! :)

Heh. I could not stand being a Teacher. I cant Deal with people very well either, lol.

Any way good luck.

BTW, Do you live in a Rureal area, Consitering the course you have available.
• C_MonC_Mon A Genuine Sucker
Well, I live in a rureal area! Still that got nothing to do where I go in school! The school I go in is a kind of High school(That's what the dictionery said). It's not a big school about 100-130 students. It's was there I was asked to become a teacher. The other school I study in at the same time and learn all about computers is in Helsinki (the capital city of Finland) and that is only 25km from where I live. How fun!

I wonder how the students will feel if I show up as the teacher. I'm 19 years old, that's only about 1-2 older than the students. I also know most of them and I still need to take normal classes when I'm not teaching! FUN!:D
• RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
Sounds cool!! Good luck. Hopefully they will pay you better than they do over here...

Have fun! Sometimes the best way to learn is to teach others.
• SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Well, I always thought the best way to learn was by beating students with blunt objects...but I guess that dun esplanes mah edyukashun
• croxiscroxis I am the walrus
btw, I'm an education major, so if you need any advice fel free to ask (but I'm sure the other teachers at your school will be able to help)

I don't think I could stand being a teacher/lecturer, and I intend to avoid it as much as possible. However, should I need to I will take tuts and labs in the coming years to survive while doing my PhD.

You would probably do far better than most computer teachers of today. I remember ours was a total idiot who knew almost nothing about computers. Go for it! And good luck :)

well I consider all kids over 8 to be fellons in training, so I also support harsh controls over them, cause children are EVIL..

I know what you're talking about!

Thank god I started study in this other school where the teachers are really good, although our Word teacher that knows everything about word don't know jack about the internet!
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
LOL, thats teachers for you (and mind you Ive dabbled in the black arts myself).

In my C++ exams, I used to browse the networks for my friends finished disks, and then copy them. I got an MVG (about an A) but sadly, I dont know heck about C++.
• RhettRhett (Not even a monkey)
Hehehe... Messiah, that is a great idea.

Teatcher - one who teaches about teats. :D

Christy and I team-taught a class of computer/ art students down in L.A. The subject was game design. We had a blast. We were going to talk for an hour, but the students kept us for two. I thought I'd be nervous, but no. It was just a lot of fun.

Go for it man. :)

It actually isn't so uncommon for students to be working as teachers, especially when it comes to computers; Many students are WAY ahead of their teachers in many institutions. Mainly because of keener interest in the subject. The only thing that surprises me is that they actually asked you, this means that they've had to actually admit that they're not well enough "equipped" themselves to handle this sort of education.

--Plus of course I happen to know the worst possible end of a similiar scenario... try imagining a course in swedish while at highschool, the teacher being your sister... :p Not my ideal course, I assure you. She had fun though, plus the salary was that of a senior teacher, so... judging by her , go for it. :)

Last year, when I was still in school, we had a teacher who tried to convince us Voodoo and Riva128 were the newest in graphics hardware.
• Are you for real?? I haven't heard those names since I got my computer in 2000
• JackNJackN Lightwave Alien
Currently I'm an Instructor at a local Vocational College. I teach Web Design, and MS Office apps, and even occasionally A+ Certification courses.

Being an Instructor is ok, if you are up on everything, but try keeping up on everything once you are working a full schedule!

Why they asked me is because of noone else wants to work as the computer teacher. The reason is because it's only six hours a week so you won't get as much as working a full time jobb. And as you said no teacher at this school knows really much about computers.

We have had other students teach at times but that was only when a teacher is ill and can't work.

Well, I guess I know in about a month or two. It's summer brake now and school starts again in about 2,5 month. I'll post here if I get the jobb or not!
