What to do with a 1985 Cavalier Wagon

SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Ok guys, I've started thinking...

I've got a POS 1985 Chevolet Cavalier Wagon, out in my driveway for when I get home this summer. We want to junk it, but that's not fun.

Here's it's current condition:
various dents all over
No headlights, turnsignals, grille.
No tail lights, no tailgate latch, no tailgate window.
Rear seats gone, spare tire gone.
Wheels are typical steel.
Engine is a 2.0L V4 or unknown capacity V6. Starter attached, but alternator in my basement somewhere. Lots of screws just floating around the hood.
Suspension: What suspension? It could be a trampoline if we wanted it to be.
Interior: Junk all over. The interior would have been stripped if I had the tools when I started.

If the engine does even work, and I do get it running...then what could be done with this car?

If nothing is done, it will be junked. Right now, it's a shed-on-wheels. It's taking up prescious driveway space. I know you guys & gals can come up with something good! Have a field day.

For those curious..here's a gallery.

it worked for me with a 77 VW Bug

Considered. Car is worth more as scrap metal than in its current condition. Value is probably near $50, maybe lower. It's most likely not even in running condition. If it does run, I doubt it runs well. I'm probably going to have Replace the fuel lines. THe gas in there has been sitting for years. Pushed around a bit but not much else. :P

The big problem is that it's a cavalier, that it's rusted to hell, and that it's just worth so close to nothing that putting nothing into it might be of amusement. But if the car does end up being used, I most surely will donate at the end of its run.

We could Burn it like Tyvar said, Or we could blow it up. If you hae Insurance on it, You will get some money out of it.

Heh, I could think of so many things to do with that car.

I'm sorry, but that's insurance fraud.

And if I was paying insurance on it, I'd question what is left of my sanity. :P

I'd go with blowing it up....that would be a LOT of fun. Of course, you would need to tape it with a MiniDV camera so we could watch it. :)

Hell, I'd fly to New York to you help you! (Not kidding...really would! Hehe)
  • SanfamSanfam I like clocks.
Well, if you'll fly up here, then sure. Because it's going to be used for *something*. And if I get it running, what better way to end it than in a ball of fire?

    Blow it up while moving.

If you are going to blow it up, Make sure to tape it and send it to me. LOL

or Dive it into a lake or river, with some thing that looks like a person in the front seat.

Can't do that, sorry. Beaches are private, and that'd end up hurting me more than anyone. *sigh*

All I ask for is an artificial reef...

I'll take it to use it as a tax deductable donation... :D

heh. You won't get much, and that's not fun, either. :P

Who said anything about Driving the car??

All we have to do the Put a brick on the Gas Petal, And make shure the car is heading the the Direction of water.

Shit, I have the best idea. Target practice. You have no idea how much fun it is shooting the shit out of a car with a mini 14. Or a glock 10mm. Or hell, anything...

You could always sell it to a high-school for their automotive shop class. ;)
