Baldur's Gate 2: Throne of Bhaal

A Genuine Sucker
in Zocalo v2.0
Has anyone here played through it? I'm only posting this because of how the game ended! The only game I have ever played to come close in story ending is Freespace 1 & 2!!
The whole BG series is really great if you play it trough from BG1 to ToB as I did!

I agree... just playing through the whole thing.. (well.. in my case.. not really... I got stuck *RIGHT* at the end of the first game because I couldn't do anything without losing my paladin status...) gives you a feeling of accomplishment.
the Second game was DEFINITELY the best of the two, all of the characters got to me in one way or another. the interactions between them all, and how the game seems to intentionally use those emotions against you (more on this later).
Probably the my favorite thing about any of these games was the Romance plots, The sombre Jaheira and her feelings being torn between her recently-passed husband and your character. Viconia, A cold, heartless bitch on the outside, but on the inside she only wants to be loved and accepted by someone. And finally, poor, innocent Aerie, who knew only pain and suffering untill she met you. (this is, of course, not counting the female romance plot, Anomen)
All these plots (if you have said characters) intertwine, and eventually conflict with one another (making for some interesting scenes...). with Viconia, you slowly begin to wear down her defences, and see the real her, she tries her hardest to resist that, wary of being betrayed as had happened to her many times before. She eventually tells of what happened to her, and why she is an oucast from the drow. She drives away all who want to care for her, even though inside she knows she needs someone. (IMHO, hers was the most dramatic)
Aerie tells you of her traumatic experience of being captured by slave traders and sold to a circus, eventually having her wings removed forcably due to infection. She had no self esteem, no confidence in herself, regretting sacrificing herself to save a young boy years ago, and feels she has no reason to live. You, as a PC, eventually give her a reason to live, make her feel better about herself, and just generally make a cute couple (something so particularly fulfilling about her plot, IMHO :/)
Can't tell you about Jaheira's plot, because it was bugged and I could never seem to get it working past a certain point...
The times this works against you, for example, is in one of the last chapters... Bhodi kidnaps your beloved and turns her into a mindless slave. (needless to say, my Paladin gave in to his inner darkness *coughslayerformcough* and ripped the vampiric bitch apart in an orgy of holy/unholy blood).
As for the ending, I absolutely loved it. Especially the choice you're given at the end; Give up your mortal life and live as the new god of murder (Benevolent or not...), or Have that power trapped away forever and live out the rest of your life with those you have come to love...
The short paragraphs you get at the end were, to say the least, rather tear-jerking. (In my game at least)
Minsc (and boo) finally returns home, as a hero.
Imoen goes off on her own, becoming a great crime boss in her own good-natured, charming way.
My Character and Aerie eventually get married and live happily ever after...
though the paragraphs for Viconia and Jaheira (both of whom I would imagine to be quite sad to be pretty much dumped by my character..) were kinda depressing...
Now I got a level 26 mage, and perhaps I'll play trough the series again with a new charecter, but this time to explore every litle corner of the world.
Anyone here got Neverwinter Nights? Could be fun to play multiplayer!
as for NwN, I have it, I like it, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but the multiplayer is excellent when you find a good group of people...
as for the single-player, it never quite caught me the way the other BW games did, but I think I'll need to eventually fast-track through it jsut to see how it plays out...
Yeah, NWN is different than BG! IMO the voice acting and music is better in BG, and ofcourse the romances.
I'd really like to play NWN with the right people multiplayer. Singelplayer I played to the third chapter, but because of a win2k crash I needed to format the whole harddisk. :(
One funny thing is that Bioware said it is imposible to make good cloaks in NWN, but already there are some nice cloak hakpaks.

If You have any good ideas of what kind of adventure to make, tell me!
Biggles: That would be cool! :)
Worf: I have already made some small modules, just for fun singelplayer. Like, You talk to a person and get 5 miljon experiens and then you have to fight a Balor! :)

How about an epic struggle between the Order of The Green Aardvark and the evil Sierran Empire, lead by the Dark Lord Dave?

Messiah: NWN rules in module building.
The editor in Morrowind is much more complex...when I looked at it I was overwhelmed. The NWN editor is much easier to pickup and learn.

Dont buy NWN it gets really boring... Buy Morrowind instead + it has a much better worldbuilder.
I've already played that right through, though.

Yes... I've heard that Morrowind's multiplayer is the best thing ever made.... ironically this was the same guy who tried to sell me beachrtont property in Arizona...
:p
"Hey, I've solved this particular task! How are you going in your game?"
