Sorry, I couldn't resist. ;)
But the UN would never have commited to force in Iraq. France would simply have vetoed.
As someone else said, it would be very interesting if the US did what alot of the world would like- just back out and go to a state of pre-20s isolationalism. Drop out of the UN, and then just worry about domestic problems. I have a feeling that htis would make alot of people happy- for a while. At least until the world started to fall apart. [/B][/QUOTE]
Problem is that the American way of life is sooo dependent on foreign trade now... ... and that half of our country is owned by foreign citizens. There's no way we could become isolationists now.
On the topic of isolationism... however impractical it would be would still be interesting. If you think about the money that would be available for domestic policies if we would return to isolationism. The US dispurses an extremely large amount of foreign aide.... if that were to stay within the US just think of how quickly the deficit would be gone... etc. Just food for thought.

If Bush didn't bribe us $300 each and piss away a $10,000,000,000 surplus, think of how quickly the deficit would be gone.
Stupid damn Rebulican Party!
Of course, I say that with the greatest affection, you money-grubbing blowhards. ;)
