The movies I REALLY like are depressing....almost every single one...
Gladiator, O, Hamlet, Children of Dune, Braveheart, Lord of the Rings (Fellowship), the list goes on...
*sigh*
whats worse, is movies like gladiator, Fellowship, Children of Dune, Braveheart..have absolutly beutiful soundtracks....and they to, are depressing, because you remember the movie....

I think I need a hug. :(

The reason you seem to like depressing movies is because you obviously like character stories (at least in general). Depressing movies, by nature, are generally character movies.
Neither is fellowship! :P
and O' Brother was great and certainly not depressing. :)
Was doing a search for one of my old posts, and had to reply to Sanfam there..
by "O" I mean the remake of "Othello" not "O Brother where art thou"
One of my favorites as well!!!
I can hear the wedding bells ringing already...
But yes, most of the movies that can be classified as masterpieces are depressing on some level... but those wouldn't be masterpieces if there were no cheerful ideas beside the depressing ones.
My all-time Top 10 would probably be:
1. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
2. Once Upon A Time In The West (1968)
3. Pulp Fiction (1994)
4. Star Wars (1977)
5. Raiders of The Lost Ark (1981)
6. The Matrix (1999)
7. The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (1966)
8. Apocalypse Now (1979)
9. Lawrence of Arabia (1962)
10. A Clockwork Orange (1971)
