Not true, its only a violation if you a: publish it without giving credit, or b: profit from it.

    croxis is doing neither.

    rednecks and unwed teenage mothers
  • A2597: Of course that isn't, i was referring to the WWE using it, because, last time I checked, they were profiting from it. Why would I say something like that about croxis? If that were true, i'd be screwed too since i use quotes all the time.

I'm not that ignorant, and i really wonder how you came to the conclusion I was talking about croxis.

Ah, so it's illegal to quote someone without attributing it?

When people can get in legal trouble for quoting things on television, that's when I'll be proven that the U.S. of A. has gone completely sue-happy (at the moment, it's only mainly sue-happy).
  • TyvarTyvar Next best thing to a St. Bernard
Oh no, Im sure its completely sue happy

Sooo, reformation of the legal system? IE we use lawyers in CHEAP launch vehicles to speed up space program? ;)
  • Yes, it is, when someone does uses another person's work for commercial gain and claims it as their own. Sure, you can quote something like in an interview..but WWE is scripted (I know, that might come as a shock to some of you ;) j/k), which means his script writer was either as billiant as JMS and managed to write something THAT similar (riiight), or they ripped it off w/o giving credit. If I did the equivilent of that in college, I would be expelled.

It's not like he was being interviewed on a talk show and made a quotation, he was reading what a writer had written for him to say, which is a completely different case.

That is why it's at least unethical, and JMS would have a pretty good case if he wanted to sue the WWE over it.

Anyway, RE: my previous post, I was in the middle of writing yet another one page reading reflection for a class and wasn't in the best humor.
