Do you have any proof to back that little claim up?
Hell, do you have ANY idea the tests condoms are put through before they are even put in their packages? How much they can take would probably boggle your mind. When contraceptives are used properly, risk of pregnancy or transfer of STDs is GREATLY reduced. Though I wouldn't expect you to know about spermicides or the female condom.
I guarantee you that if teenagers were given all the facts about contraceptives (as in how to properly use them instead of just saying they exist) then teenager pregnancy rates would drop DRAMATICALLY. Its not like they aren't freely available. Hell, I could walk into frelling Wal-mart or Target right now and get as many condoms as I want right off the shelf. They aren't hidden away at all.

I remember seeing several months back a news article on Yahoo that was all about offering free condoms to a British college to test their effectiveness and comfort...
I don't remember who said this, but there was a quote that went something like...
"I don't understand why they named them "Trojan" condoms, after the Trojan Horse. The Trojan horse penatrated the outer wall of Troy and than, inside, let out all the little men to run around a wreak havoc. This is the exact opposite of what a condom should do."
And, of course, there's the great quote from The Simpsons, said by the King of Troy upon reciving his giant wooden horse as a gift...
"From now on, whenever people get wood, they'll think of Trojans!"
Tyver: Dont' worry about it; It's going to take a lot more then that to piss me off right now!

Well I don't know about where you live but I was given a thorough sex education in Elementery, Middle, and High School.
Say what you want about American culture, but sheltering people from sex sure isn't a big part of it.
And what kind of idiot cant figure out how to use a condom?
Ricobirch: Heh, just making sure there is no misunderstandings :)
As for the actual success ratio of contraceptives, its not as high as it was thought to be, and not because of stupidity, but in moments of passion, shall we say, correct procedures isnt exactly the foremost thing on your mind and accidents can happen.

I beg to differ. :) When I was in elementary school, they didn't say one thing about sex. In middle school, they only said what sex is, a brief mention of STDs and that was it. High school...a rehash of the middle school material. Then again, I'm surrounded by religious bigots (no, I'm not calling anyone here that) so thats not suprising.
