Does anyone know the specifications for the format of Lightwave object files? I'm trying to right a program that can convert them to other formats.

Major differences in each, although I'd be the last person in the world to give you specifics.
During the B5:Itf development, Vassily went through some of that, and had headaches with the projection form of mapping that Lightwave does up through 5.x versions. I bet things would be easier now with 6.x and above with the UV mapping stuff.
I did glean from him that the geometry was fairly straight forward in the first part of an object file.
I believe there is SDK stuff available on the Lightwave CD's too...
Cheers!

Lightwave itself is backward compatible. And for reading in newer ones, it's not very hard to convert older readers. Lightwave files use the IFF format standard, which basically means that newer formats have more chunks.
