    From that tut you posted, they seem like a lot of work compared to nurbs.

  • PJHPJH The Lovely Thing
    You can make fairly simple stuff much quicker and with less work with NURBS sure, but with Splines you have a total control of the shape of objects, which allows you to make much much more complex shapes and once you have some experience with Splines they are actually quite easy and fast to use.     Btw, check out Kier Darby's "Build Your Own Whitestar" tutorial. It's an excellent tutorial, which helped me to learn spline modeling too.
