Harsh is the only way to do it. If you staff does not do things on time, they should not do things at all. It is very harsh, but they would be given generous deadlines.
Milestones are the key. You have to set milestones which you must meet.
One of the reasons I have not joined a mod group for two years since the Oakhurst lay off. Regardless of how much I would like it and probably enjoy it, I haven't had the time to commit to it, and so I hold back.

Myself, I have slight C++ and J++ knowlege, Web Design, Graphic Design, and publication knowlege. I call Project Leader and Web Designer, as my C++/J++ knowlege is barely living.

I know C, C++ (they are not one and the same!), Pascal (via Delphi), lotsa BASICs, including a bit of VB. Plus a bunch of other languages as well. And I program for a living. So I guess that makes me some kind of programmer.

As far as formal programming, it's been a long time since I've even look at anything besides HTML. You let me know what I need to learn and I'll jump on it. I have an art degree, so I have some design training (nothing like shadow boxer, speaking of the boxer I haven't seen him in this thread yet...). Basically, you let me know what you need from me and I'll do my best. I'd like to be in the team even if it is only as some kind of "creative consultant" thing.
