    Put some form of anti-flip on (like really-close-to-the-ground siding or something).
    Keep the centre of gravity low.
    Keep essential components away from the outer shell so they don't get hit by spikey things.

    Use airpressure as the primary means for flipping/crushing/piercing. Also have a secondary weapon that does not rely on power (perhaps a ram)

    I've only seen one season of the BBC version, but remember to keep it simple. The most effective robot I ever saw on the show was one called Chaos 2. It was basically a small little thing that was pretty durable, and had a flipper on the front.

    The thing is, that flipper was SUPER powerful, and functioned as a self-righter, as well. That tiny little robot pretty much destroyed everything else it came up against. I saw it throw other bots about 4 times its size OUT of the arena (over the little wall and everything).

    The other bots basically followed a rule of "the more fancy the creators got, the worse off the robots did".

    Yea here in the US they have the one from San Francisco where you can basically use just about anything except.

    a.cannon or throwing weapon
    b. electical discharge
    c. water or any type of liquid discharge.
    Total weight limit in heavy weights is 300 wheels or tracks 500 walkers or legged robots. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/eek.gif[/img]

    From what I've seen, the best way to win is KISS Keep it simple stupid. The bots with the overelabate contrapions, just have more to break down. Something low, and unique looking, so it will have more of a chance to get on the show.

    Something else I've noticed about this battles. It seems that a half-asses bot can do really good with a good driver, but I've seen a lot of good bots do poorly becuase of poor driving. Practice your driving.

    lol...I watched that match in the pic the other day. Diesector destroyed that bot with it's own weapon. That bar on the top kept spinning and knocks it's own skirts off. That ankle biter bot is a beast too. All it has is a high speed disc with a few notches in it and it is devistating. I wish I had the money to do that stuff it looks like a lot of fun.

    I was suprized at how much some of these guys spend.

    But most of my stuff{eletronics and wirering} is being donated.

    Going to try the low heavy duty model with pnematic flipper. Aircraft alum. with Titanium shell. Have a set 150lbs per square inch actuators. Maybe 6 wheel drive.
