I wasn't impressed, i guess its just not my kind of game, cause i wasn't very impressed with Earth and Beyond either. I'm looking for more of a space combat sim, if its also got some adventure/RPG parts too, thats cool, but i wanna be able to grab my joystick, chase down my fellow internetters and blow them into tiny little bits.

It LOOKS absolutely beautiful. I love the way that you can target different ship's systems, and the hit effects (with chunks of ships breaking off) are absolutely gorgeous.
My problem with the demo is the horrible interface/learning curve. Homeworld is one of my all time favorite PC games, and it did a 3d RTS right. It had a nice, in-depth tutorial, even in the demo.
Hegemonia just drops you in the middle of a level. I've tried the demo level at least five times, and I STILL don't know what I'm supposed to be doing. I try attacking some ships, I get yelled at and the mission is over. I try ignoring the ships, the mission is over.
It's a little unintuitive.
Not only that, but I absolutely [i]hate[/i] the way that the fighters attack. Sure, the fighters in Homeworld had a repetitive attack pattern after a while (make pass at ship, go out a few hundred feet, turn around in a flip/roll, repeat), but at least it looked more effective. The fighters in Hegemonia appear to just bunch up behind a ship, fire, then double back around for another pass. It just doesn't look right.

The interface IS very homeworld like tho..hit space to go to big tactical view..
The leaked imperium galactica III demo is IMO better. Better looking...although it's EXTREMELY counter intuitive to learn..really steep learning curve..
I am replaying Cataclysm...after doing some "creative" spec altering for my ships..
Not only that, but there's nothing stopping someone from making a complete knockoff of the Homeworld interface. As long as the code's not the same, then they can't do a thing.
