"Microsoft's Digital Rights Management (DRM) is a technology which enables the copyright owner of an intellectual property (for example, a digital audio file), to control how the listener uses the file.

"To protect against unauthorised duplication, Sound Blaster Audigy [or Sound Blaster Live!, in the other readme] shuts down its digital output when encrypted files are played back through a Microsoft DRM supported audio player (for example, Creative PlayCenter)."

  • ..so..they all have that..It only stops a digital file from playing out over the "lossless" digital connection if it's a DRM file through MS DRM. You want WHQL cert? Guess what you have to have in your drivers....

    It's not like its going to stop an MP3 or anything.

    Just use any other software player. Winamp should do fine (not sure about 3.x).

  • And there, my friend, you have found the problem with it.

    Oh well. All you do is turn on wave recording, record it to .wav, then encode it to mp3

    Problem = solved.
