Is it nerdy?

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way
Is it nerdy to have some decorations around your comp.. Like.. Let's say, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from the first X-men, and Wolverine. And, as from today, Major Motoko Kusanagi from Ghost in the Shell.

"Are you a god fearing man, senator? It's such an strange phrase. I've always though of god as a teacher... as a bringer of light, wisdom and understanding. You see, i think what you really are afraid of is me. Me and my kind, the Brotherhood of Mutants. Oh, it's not so suprising really, mankind has always feared what it doesnt understand. Well, dont fear god senator, and certainly dont fear me... not anymore."

It's VERY nerdy if you have multiple, but one well-crafted piece chosen with good taste is not at all nerdy. A Mech, a cute gal with heavy artillery and in overall any anime character which isn't a child makes a good impression on a casual observer. A B5 / Buffy / Xena etc. pieces will make a fierce NERD -tag on you that can be spotted miles away.

The nerdiness is of course multiplied with the number of items you have surrounding your comp... I'd probably take a good looking, medium clad anime fighter / warrior / gal sculpture immediately on my desk if I'd find a cheap one. Although that's impossible but something like Ivy from Soul Calibur or a similiar gal would just absolutely ROCK.

Anyways, I think It's much more probable that I'll just draw one helluva' piece once, take it to the commecrial printers and make one kickass poster someday.

Nah its not nerdy, I want to have Models of Star Trek and B5, and other ships mounted around my walls near the ceiling, too bad i suck at models, So right now all i have for decorations are my FreeBSD Daemon and Gandalf (http://www.firefoot.com/gandalf.html)

A bunch of Bobble Head dolls that came free with my Breakfast Cereal, and a wall full of Mets clippings.

I've also found that having computer stuff around my computer (things like a keyboard, mouse, maybe a monitor) have a great effect.

Where did you get that idea from? I still have a tank. It sits in front of the computer. I've always needed a computer as well.

  • Ha! You guys are pretty damned cool compared to me. I used to have various assorted B5, Star Wars, Farscape, etc stuff around my computer. Well, my family's computer. I had to rearrange it every time I want to use the damned thing, because the move it all around, allowing them to actually see the screen!!
If I were to put all this stuff back up (they finally threatened to throw it all away), it'd be chaos. I'd get all the Star Wars, Babylon 5, and Farscape action figures, and create a massive battle all around the PC. The DVD boxes and spare LEGOs would be combine to make trenches and fortifications for my action figures, who would be involved in WWIII. The LEGO Star Wars ships and B5 ships (created by e--halfwya decent) would be hanging from the fan and roof, engaged in dogfights above the chaotic land battle. Of course, the Super Star Destroyer (only 3x the size of the X-Wing... ) would be pwning all, of course. Posters would be lining the wall for all B5, Farscape, and Star Wars, while fake lightsabers (Red, Blue, Green, Purple) hung from the opposite one, as well as the model blasters. The Apache Helicopter and F-22 models would be hiding, because their pansy weapons are useless, while the various Ferrari and Lmaborghinis would be chasing people on the ground, and running them down. A photo of PC Gamer's Greg Vederman would be on fire, and my voodoo doll of him would be directly next to it.
Finally, I would squeeze in amongst the chaos, only to discover that my mouse and keyboard had been destroyed in the crossfire.
