    I'm going to assume you're referring to Starcraft.

    From what I've heard, there's a teaser for it at the end of Warcraft 3. Hopefully they'll do something different with it, though. I still thought Total Annihilation was a vastly superior game [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img].

    Funny thing is, if they kept the same gameplay, and just translated it to 3d, I'd probably be sold.

    And Jeremy Soule would have to be doing the music again, of course.

    Well, Chris Taylor (the brains behind TA) promised the loyal fans of the original that a similar game would be in the works at Gas Powered Games. It wouldn't be a true sequel, as he doesn't have the rights, but it would share some incredible similarities.

    I don't hold high hopes for the official sequel to TA. It just doesn't have the right staff to be more than a sequel by name alone.

    My theory about why there hasn't been a Starcraft 2 yet is that Blizzard has a concept for it, but they don't think it can be done yet. Perhaps they're waiting a few years for graphics technology. Whatever the case may be, there will be a Starcraft 2 someday.

    Why would they wait for couple of years for new graphics when they got fresh game engine out of a owen with Warcraft III -- Little polishing and editing and we have World of Starcraft on it.

    Yessss SC2 would be great with an enhanced WC3 engine.With what the current generation graphic cards can do there is plenty of room to improve the games engine....

    It's not out because you don't want to saturate a very spendthrifty market.

    People will buy anything blizzard, but I don't think many people would like it if Blizzard pumped out an SC sequel next year. For starters, they'd have to back in at least some areas to meet that deadline (texture quality, model quality, story, etc), and this would tarnish their reputation. But the primary reason is that people just wouldn't have the time to enjoy Warcraft III. The close release would also make it hard to truly enjoy the exclusive multiplayer you can find on battlenet.

    These blizzard games have an incredibly long shelf life, but at some point, they wear out. Blizzard appears to have gauged this just right, and released them right when the online play seems to be in decline.

    I trust blizzard will release SC2 when the time is right.

    I'd much rather see Starcraft with it's own engine. As much as I liked Starcraft back in the day, it was difficult to look at it as anything other than a child of Warcraft. I think it would be much more interesting if Starcraft and Warcraft stopped being skins of the same game, and each became their own unique experience.
