Dave Mustaine leaves Megadeth
Falcon1
Elite Ranger
in Zocalo v2.0
A sad day for all metal fans... Dave Mustaine has left Megadeth after nearly 20 yrs with the band. He has suffered a serious injury to his right hand and arm, meaning he can't play guitar, and will probably take a year to recover. As a result he's left the band to take time out with his family and deal with his injury.
Its a sad day, he is such an amazing artist and has been so influential. I hope things go well for him and that he makes a fully recovery.

So he didn't really "leave" the band, he's just taking a Hiatus while he heals.
... and didnt he lose the arm?
That would certainly be classified in the Serious Injury department...

Heh, yeah, i guess that would, i had one of those a few years back, the doctor wanted to amputate, but we decided to go for surgury even tho it only had a 10% chance of saving the arm. Good thing we did. cause otherwise i'd be a one armed freak, instead of a normal freak!

What was the precise problem you had with your arm? What had gone wrong?
I dont mean to pry, but now I am curious may I ask what hit you? or what did you hit? that kind of an injury takes alot of force.

Thats a good question, and i don't know exactly, i had just worked a 72 hour shift, i had to go back to work, i remember taking a phonecall from my boss, heading out to the site, and not much after that until being in the emergency room, i THINK i ended up being tripped by the cat in the kitchen and hitting my arm on the counter on the way down.
I have a question...
Is the yellowish coloration of the skin because of an Iodine scrub or is it due to poor circulation to what remains of the extremity?
In any case that is one seriously messed up arm. I should think it's a good thing not to remember what happened.

Thats not my arm, thats just a picture of the surgury that i had, only mine they did both sides of the arm.
I would assume that it was betadine, since once they cut you open, they need to leave the wound open for a couple days to drain and for the swelling to go down, they'd need to cover it with betadine to prevent infection.
Yeah, it pretty much sucked. but i've got one hell of a scar from it. heh

Arm injuries are not nice. My dad 3/4 snapped a tendon in his right arm before christmas. Of course the clever doctors never noticed it was 3/4 snapped, otherwise they would have operated. Instead they left it to heal itself, using physio and such. But its still not right. Its taken them since before christmas last year to decide that he needs to have an operation, so he's going in on the 4th of July, but this is just to use a camera to see whats wrong. Sometimes I wonder how some people qualify as doctors.

yeah, my dad just had tendon replacement surgury, removed a tendon from the leg and used it to replace a snapped biceps tendon, Ouch
