Ok, I'm sure you've heard of skins for XP and various operating systems. What if we made Firstones.com skins? (ala DesktopX or LiteStep) Hell, what about B5 skins?

I'm not talking cheapass desktop themes here folks, I'm talking about an entire GUI replacement for Windows. Maybe even a shell for the Linux people as well. [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]

    Writing a GUI system is no easy task. I've written an extremely simple one for my game engine. But writing an entire GUI system, with full functionality, that replaces the current one would be difficult. You would have to do all the lowlevel stuff as well.

    How about a DesktopX component set?

    But really, there isn't a good way of making it happen. We don't exactly know how the systems worked. The show focused too much on the characters! (Darn! foiled again!)

    Just as a note, the one thing I hate about skins are Words. They should never contain text titling the skin, etc. It makes them look tacky...
