and here's the Prologue. Doesn't say much about the series really, but it passes the torch on.

Prologue

"Delenn!" Sheridan called out.

Delenn turned around slowly to face him as he was walking briskly up to her. "I still can't believe they kept that away from us for so long."

"Yes, it would have remained hidden if that rogue element in the warrior caste hadn't tried to attack the S'fen Draagk."

"That was a religious caste ship wasn't it." Delenn nodded her head. Sheridan continued, "Well, those warrior caste are always picking old fights aren't they?"

"John, it was a rogue element within the warrior caste, most of them have no surviving grudge from the Minbari civil war. Besides we've captured all of the rogue element and the ship is still intact."

The ship, Sheridan thought as he stared through the Earth Alliance Ship Odin's viewport. Amazing, the warrior caste had already built a destroyer class White Star. With this ship they could possibly build the new Victory class destroyer within the next five years, and it could be used as a test bed. It still needs to be completed and it has a few bugs to work out, but the Alliance could have a flagship within a month or two instead of a couple of years. It is a marvel to look at at a mile long and could pack a pretty impressive punch. That's if they could fix the weapons. After a couple of shots, when it attacked the S'fen Draagk, it blew the entire power distrobution network and left the ship dead in space, ending the battle. A flagship, the only problem was...

"John."

"Whuh?"

Delenn smiled, "You were daydreaming again."

"I was thinking. We can use this ship as a flagship but it still belongs to the Minbari doesn't it?"

"I have already talked to the grey counsel on this issue. They seem to agree that they can give it to the Alliance on two stipulations."

"There are always strings attached. They're tightly wrapped around your neck so that when they're finally pulled, you choke." Sheridan commented.

"John, what they want is an Earth Alliance Captain."

"Wait I don't understand, wouldn't they want a Minbari capatain?"

"This ship is still a military ship, and would then require a captain from the warrior caste. Under the circumstances of how the ship surfaced, they are a bit nervous of giving the captainship to a warrior."

"Excellent. I know the perfect captain for the job. What was the second stipulation?"

"The second officer must be a member of the warrior caste."

"I thought you said they were nervous about having a warrior as a crew member?"

"The Grey Counsel wants a presence on the ship. Since a Minbari captain is out of the question, they feel much better with having a second in command there. The rest of the ship will be made of the Rangers."

"And the noose tightens. Still, at least it wont be around my neck."

"And who's neck will it be around?" Delenn smirked.

"Out of the two captains I was thinking of proposing for the two Victory prototypes. Gideon is a fine captain, if a bit eccentric, but Davidson has had more experience with helming prototypes. He's captained the Omega and the Warlock. He'll captain her." John looked toward the ship and asked Delenn "What did they call her anyway?"

"The Gentru'at, the closest approximation of it would be the 'Bringer of Mass Destruction'."

Sheridan looked at her in disbelief. After a pause he spoke again "I think we should rename it don't you?"

"I already have. Like all things, they can be reborn or redeemed. This ship will be reborn as the Grey Star."

"Why the Grey Star?"

Delenn looked away from Sheridan and towards the ship. She slowly lifted her hands with one hand on her chest where he heart was beating and the other extended with her palm pointing toward the ship. She answered, "Because we are all Grey." With that she lowered her hands. In silence, Sheridan understood as they watched the Grey Star.
