AI is the only major thing that hinders us from releasing the demo. It's pretty much incomplete right now, and I'm spending the lion share of my time to finish it. There are so many AI options... About models - most of them are ready (afaik). Starfury needs UV retexturing though.
About mission editor. If we release the demo within the next month (as I hope), mission editor will NOT be included. Otherwise, it depends on its readiness.
And I'm making missions for the demo at the same time as I make AI smarter and meanier... [img]http://216.15.145.59/mainforums/smile.gif[/img]

Klasse, da gibt's nur ein Problem. Ich hab keine GeForce 3 und erst recht nicht das Geld, um mir eine zu kaufen. Trotzdem wirklich toll, was die Jungs da alles auf die Beine stellen. Selbst bei kommerziellen Produkten ist GeForce3-Unterstützung noch ziemliche Mangelware. Der einzige Titel der mir im Moment einfällt, der bereits auf dem Markt ist und diese Karte unterstützt ist I-War 2.
Allerdings mache ich mir so langsam Sorgen, dass IFH auf meinem Rechner noch laufen wird und wenn, vor allem wie gut.

Well, the engine is very adjustable. You cat reduce texture resolution, or models detail level, or turn off lenses or background, etc... Of course it will look nicer and run smoother on powerful systems (like P3+GeForce 2) but even with P2+TNT2 you'll get your damned 30 fps... ;-)

Well, we will probably wait a few months before releasing the tools that enable you to insert your own models into the game. And the textures/models that we have made will probably be packed somehow so they cannot be changed or used. Somethign like the.big file in Homeworld, or the .pak files used by various other games.

We know its been a long and painful wait but the wait is soon to end and our first official release is about to happen. We are nearing completion on voice acting, final tweaking of missions is taking place, and we've gone full speed ahead tweaking weapon graphics and ship behaviors.
We will not commit to an official release date at this time and there will probably be very little in the way of warning when it does come and its not confirmed if we will release certain large downloads (such as music) before the actual release.
But this is definately a positive sign. You've seen it all happen very slowly on the forums and now were about to unleash this first taste of Babylon 5 onto the internet. There are, two things to keep in mind. The first is that this is our first release and we will be definately adding more content as we go, releasing more missions, and enhancing the experience. We will also be changing things, tweaking weapons, and modifying things as we go. This first release should be treated as much as work in progress as it should be treated as a quality release from the team. These two aspects are balanced and we hope that the entire experience is enjoyable.
Ich kann mir nicht helfen, aber das klingt mächtig nach Understatement. Vielleicht ist es aber auch nur eine gewisse (nachvollziehbare) Erschöpfung.

Well, we will probably wait a few months before releasing the tools that enable you to insert your own models into the game. And the textures/models that we have made will probably be packed somehow so they cannot be changed or used. Somethign like the.big file in Homeworld, or the .pak files used by various other games.

We know its been a long and painful wait but the wait is soon to end and our first official release is about to happen. We are nearing completion on voice acting, final tweaking of missions is taking place, and we've gone full speed ahead tweaking weapon graphics and ship behaviors.
We will not commit to an official release date at this time and there will probably be very little in the way of warning when it does come and its not confirmed if we will release certain large downloads (such as music) before the actual release.
But this is definately a positive sign. You've seen it all happen very slowly on the forums and now were about to unleash this first taste of Babylon 5 onto the internet. There are, two things to keep in mind. The first is that this is our first release and we will be definately adding more content as we go, releasing more missions, and enhancing the experience. We will also be changing things, tweaking weapons, and modifying things as we go. This first release should be treated as much as work in progress as it should be treated as a quality release from the team. These two aspects are balanced and we hope that the entire experience is enjoyable.
Hang on for a little while longer.
