I don't see what is not to like about Ebay. I've spent at least $2000 on there, and I have never had a problem.

ANyhoo, I'm sorry, but I simply will not sell mine They really aren't all too goot for anything but novelty, though. The ship models are pretty innacurate, and the reference card is useless Still they're fun.

I hate to say it, but you will find that many posts for just about every popular site on the net. Someone is always ready to complain about the smallest thing.
I have had no trouble with ebay.

My most recent purchase was a touch-screen monitor
I'm working on a music jukebox for the house
Definately a fun thing. you tap the screen to turn on the display, click the graphic for the playlist you wish to open, and poof, it opens. you can also enter text using a virtual keyboard.

Now that is something I'd like to try! How much did you get the monitor for?

You're also very incorrect. eBay spams. That is not debatable - it is a fact backed by many people posting considerable proof and rather damning evidence that, not only does eBay spam, they also reset some users' preferences from "don't spam me" to "yes, email me all you want."

Oddly enough, I have NEVER received an e-mail from eBay that wasn't related to an auction in which I was bidding.

As for problems, I have also never had any. I know that there are scams out there, but the best way to avoid them is to communicate with the seller and make sure he/she has lots of positive feedback.

I never said they didn't. And I'm just saying that I have never had any trouble with them. I doubt that they would spam everybody, that would get them into trouble in no time.

dont forget that if you really want miniatures you should look at the pewter gaming miniatures... they're out there too... much better detail quality etc but you have to build and paint them yourself.. ask at your nearest modelling shop.... and not only that they have every ship that is canon as far as I know....

Aside from the Vorlon Planet Killer, the Excalabur (but if WB agrees to allow them to make Crusade material, the will likely change soon after) and a few non aligned ships. But they have more than enough extra ships to make up the difference.

I got three micro machines sets for $14 bucks a little over six months ago. This guy also has the nerve to set the reserve on that auction

He did not imply that sort of statement. Biggles only stated that he did not have any issues with ebay. I'm sure many have, but that is always going to happen. I have never recieved one piece of unwanted mail from ebay, nor have I been screwed. I have always checked the history of a seller through feedback. If I see too much negative feedback from a short period of time, it is out of the picture.

$80 with shipping
Pretty decent monitor
it is slightly worn, and has the Merc logo burned into it (probably used as a kiosk), but it still works fine. The Jukebox will happen once I can get my hands on a non-cyberpile system. I really hope to advance this idea a bit further. Probably through voice recognition, or home automation and such. It all depends on my funds. Hopefully, I can get some real income soon.

That's pretty impressive...
I would say start with a touch screen version. Once you have that going, then all the difficult stuff behind the interface will be out of the way and you can easily put any interface you like on it.

I got the first set a year or two ago, but around mid december last year, I found a store that had Babylon 5 key chains, which were just micro machines with little loops on the front. I just cut them off, and they cost about as much as if I got them when they were first made.
