Due to the recent purchase of Sierra by HAVAS, several major projects with much potential were cancelled.
The most important of these projects is a nearly finished multiplayer game based on the Award winning television series "Babylon 5". "Babylon 5 - Into The Fire" is a space combat simulator with internet team play modes, in an established "universe" complete with plotline that co-exists with the 5 year television series, and followup series "Crusade". Unseen footage has been shot for the game that extends the plotline.
Until yesterday it was the hope of fans that the game would be purchased and published by Codemasters. They have declined. "We have continued to monitor closely the trends in the U.S. gaming community," said Nick Wheelwright, managing director of Codemasters "and we, like others, have determined that the great opportunity that lies ahead for those that focus on online gaming products is one not to be missed."
It is now important for Microsoft to seize this opportunity.
Releasing this nearly complete game under the Microsoft Games label will not only be very profitable for the Company, but will gain the undying gratitude of millions of Babylon 5 fans and gamers within your targeted consumer group.
For a sample of some of the fan efforts to keep the game alive, you should examine www.firstones.com

Damit! check Spacebattles.com for my sig! I don't feel like retyping it!

I was asked to revise and expand on original letter, have done so and submitted to 3 key departments. MS has got some new development happening, and B5:ITF may be something they can USE. I say use, cause they need projects like this ASAP and are actively soliciting them. Honestly, I am REALLY optimistic! Since I have no connection with the game itself or HAVAS (other than my Berkeley Systems association which is very minor), I will have to turn this over to KEN or RANDY at some point. I made sure they were aware of KEN's credits, since they still will need someone familiar with where the game is at to get the developement up and running again.
Will know more in min 4-6 weeks.
1. there are alot of people (in the thousands) who will do about anything to see this game made just so they can buy it.
2. the game is SOOOOO close to being finished. music has been written, movies have been filmed. all that remains is really putting it together
and we are all loyal windows users if it helps
