No war was EVER won in a single battle. We are up against a company ($ierra)that has nothing but absolutle CONTEMPT for gamers in general and this game in paticular.
We will never get this thing off of their HD by pleading or begging. We have to draw BLOOD!
Battle 1: A flanking manuver:
$h1t rolls downhill and who is uphill from Sierra in this matter? Warner Bros.!!! We need to show Warner Bros. that Sierras refusal to finish this sim and its lack of plans for for the future of its license is hurting them finacialy through loss of royalties. We need to be VERY vocal in this. EVERYONE must participate and activly recruit new members in the fight! If we do this right, we can put Sierra in a vice between us and Warner. They withdrew the license from TNT, they can do it to Sierra. Getting the license pulled from Sierra means that they cannot EVER publish the game and it will then be utterly useless to them. An added incentive to sell, even at a loss.
Battle 2: Recruitment and publicity:
A)We need to get our cause in front of the gaming community. Hit the magazine sites, the chat rooms, the Usenet and web gaming boards with an all out assault! Post complaints and comments EVERY CHANCE YOU GET about the game and how we are trying to save it! Never let there be a day when there isn't an active thread running about our effeorts on EVERY gaming board or site! Post weekly or daily if we have to. Don't forget to post the URL for the sites you visit here so more members can follow up quickly. If each of us posts a single complaint, but they are spread out over the course of a year, they may be dissmissed easily, but if we ALL post within a week or so, the operators are going to take notice.
B)We need a LOT more members. Every person we can recruit helps. Don't forget to mention and link back to this site! Those of us with multiple accounts, use them all at each site. Make more if you can. If you use one account, you have one gun. if you use two accounts, you have two. Get it? If we all post to 100 sites, odds are that at least ten gamers will come here to check out what the fuss is about. If we keep just one or two of those, we have added 100 - 200 members. (DRAZI GUY: perhaps you could make the links to the game's info and screen shots more visible to make it easier for visitors to see what we are fighting for.)
C)We need to focus more attention to getting Crusade back into production. Hammer away at the Sci-Fi channel! We need to activly campain them to pick up the show now that TNT is out of the picture. Mail them and mail them some more, then mail them a few more times! Getting Crusade on the air can only HELP this cause.
Battle 3: Frontal assault:
We need to post weekly demands to pick up this game to ALL gamming company sites. Again, post as many times as it takes untill they show a serious interest and begin negotiations. Don't take no for an answer. We aren't taking it from Sierra so why should we take it from Codemaster or anyone else?
