I tried to install the intel version but it's asking me to "atach dongle". What the hell is a dongle?

• LOL!
Ummm, how to explain....

Well, two possibilities

1. It's a man's, um, never mind.
2. It's a little thing that you have to plug into your computer when certian software, usuly high priced, is installed. It acts as final insureince agenest piracy, since, no man would want to part with his dongle, just in case.

But if it's a beta software "free" for download, why it's asking for the dongle???

It is wierd... but then again you can't get a demo of Lightwave to download from their site which is a big pain... I suppose it stops people using the demo to create actual render work, like me!

It's NOT a free for everyone beta. It's for the LEGAL Lightwave owners. And if you don't know what the dongle is and/or don't have it, you are using an illegal version of LW.
