    Well, there wouldn't be time, would there? In B5 the ships were almost always still when they opened a jump point, and it takes a few seconds for it to close...then youed have astroids chasing you in hyper space! [img]http://www.firstones.com/forums/wink.gif[/img]

    it would also depend on how far away they are from the sun, for instance it would take something like 8 minutes for us to feel the shockwave from our own sun.

    Acutally it takes 8 minutes for light to get to us.. so an explosion would be SEEN before, but the shockwave would lag a little behind, although I don't pretend to know how slow it'd be...
