Physical, Real-world renders. : )

samuelksamuelk The Unstoppable Mr. 'K'
Ok, here's a switch. Here are some real objects that I have "rendered". hehe

Some views of my model Delorean from "Back to the Future" (this version was used for the end of part 1, and extensively throughout part 2).

And a closeup of the license plate (it's the original plate used for the first version of the car...I liked it better than the "bar code" version):

    Very cool and accurate!
Back to the Future and the sequels are one of the few movies that I have watched over 5 times.

    That kicks ass!
Where did you get that model?
I've been looking for one (preferably with the mr. Fusion on)

    Check out http://modelersvault.com

You can also find them at http://www.bttf.com (a very good "Back to the Future" fan site). There are models for sale in the Merchandise section.

As I remember it, there are 4 models total: There's the Original 1955 version with the hook, there's the version I made (with Mr. Fusion), there's the one from the 3rd movie with the over-inflated tires and large circuitry on the hood, and then there's the version with converted rail-road wheels (also from the third movie).

I liked the Mr Fusion version because there's a built-in mechanism that flips the wheels down.

There are other models that don't quite look as good. These are all made by a Japanese company, and are very good quality.

Thanks, Mr. Excalibur. There are definitely some flaws in the model (mostly painting flaws), but the pictures kinda hide them.

Despite the fact that it was one of the most hyped cars of the 70's - 80's, it only had a piddly 2.8 Renault engine, and the rest of it was abso crap. The style was the only interesting thing. Even the doors didn't work properly, and then stainsteel body couldn't be kept clean, i.e. finger prints showed up very badly.

Just a bit of useless info.....

Yes, well MY DeLorean has NONE of those problems....

Ok, so the doors don't work.

    But that's it.
