And in other LOTR news, the family of JRRT is suing Warner Brothers over unauthorized merchandising of morally questionable items resulting in damage to the Tolkien name and reputation:

Boom. Boom, boom boom! Always boom!

I don't think LOTR slot machines are quite what JRRT would have had in mind when writing the books! So for once I agree with the estate.

It would be nice to see some fact checking in the media. Every outlet that isn't based in NZ is reporting that "Mt. Doom" (also known as Mt. Ngaruahoe) is erupting. It's not. In fact, it's the only one of that group of three that isn't doing something. Mt. Ruapehu (used for filming scenes on Mt. Doom because it's less of a pile of gravel) has started doing odd things with temperature differences, and Mt. Tongariro (not used in the movies at all because it's little more than a large, rounded hump) is the one that's erupted a few times this year.

I had a feeling you were going to say that wasn't Mt. Doom.

At least the Kiwis gave their volcanoes names one can halfway pronounce. ;) Unlike those found on Iceland. :D

Of course the media don't fact check, why would they? Everybody's watching and you don't want everybody to know everything.
