    I'd seen some of them before too, but they're still amazing to look at. It's amazing to think they're about a hundred years old, we're almost conditioned to expect black and white images for anything that old

    Regarding the Atomic pictures:

    Later on in the testing days, they came up with a mechanical shutter using a rotating Prism that provided 1 million frames per second. These cameras rolled through their film reels within a VERY short period of time, and had to be timed ever so accurately to the detonation.

    Amazing slo-mo footage they were.
