It seems fairly good imho, and costs only 199 euros atm. I would be mainly using it as ebook reader, reading some comics and such on the road. The memory size isnt all that great, but still decent. I've got a 16 gb microsd card ready for it anyway.
But I know some of you here will know of some better options and even more fancy tablets for sure. :)
I would prefer staying in the 7" range, cuz I kind of prefer something small sized for what i would be using it for. It isnt to replace my netbook or pc thats for sure. :)

As for what is out there, frankly 90% of the stuff is sucky hardware. The Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 are really the only good quality hardware items in existence beyond the iPad. I've never used the Galaxy Tab, but the Xoom has a clunky feel to the interface relative to the iPad, probably because the Android tablet interface is still beta more than anything else, but does work fairly well.
Interesting hardware info: the HP TouchPad software was ported to run on the iPad...and ran a lot faster. That is, the TouchPad was under speced in terms of hardware in order to compete, part of why it failed. Oops. But you can pick it up for $99 and I believe someone has already ported Android to it.
One thing you really want to consider for an E-Reader is battery life, and right now nothing even comes close to the iPad battery life.
One of the big issues with tablets right now is most of the competitors with the iPad have either canceled their lineup before it ever hit market or only had it available for a very short time due to poor sales. Even the Xoom is somewhat limited in availability due to poor sales. The Dell Streak has vanished entirely. The HP TouchPad is on the way out as fast as they can sell off their inventory. It's really hard to find a decent quality competing product when every product line out there keeps failing to sell well enough to stay on the market.
True, but with amazon's cloud service and online store it's far better placed to challenge Apple in terms of content than any of the others. Whether the hardware is up to it is another matter
The Eee Pad Transformer is also supposed to be a good Android tablet but it's a bit bigger than what you're looking for, Refa.
The Transformer is one I've thought about, and there's also the Slider, which has the built in slider keyboard.. and then there's that one ASUS pad that is kind of neat idea. It's a 10 inch tab that has a 3 inch or so screen mobile with it. You basically plug in the mobile into the back of the tablet when you need larger screen.
I like my Galaxy Tab 10.1 a lot. I don't find the interface clunky at all, and it's just as responsive as Apple's (i.e. smooth except when the garbage collector is running). Feature-wise, I find the interface much more suited to the large screen than iOS, which is better on a smaller screen for me.

My Galaxy Tab does.
I admit part of that is because netflix didn't work on the thrive, and that was one of the reasons I bought it, but I like the transformer. Its not too expensive, and it does everything I ask it to do. So far, so good.
(Better than the Xoom)
For 7in, go with the Nook. decent little android tablet, and the root process is easy as can be. I owned one for about 6 months, sold it to my parents as I found the screen too small for my uses.
now torn between replacing it with a Transformer, or a Mac Book Air.
The 3G version seems most interesting even if about 60-70% of the usage would be at home with wi-fi.
What I worry about is the battery power, as well the screen quality. Good to read when outside? Do you need to worry about scratching it a lot? I know the new asus ones have the gorilla glass, which they use in my motorola defy, and dont need to worry about scratching the screen at all, I can tell you that..
But what the asus ones dont have is 3G. Atleast for now.
Oh yea, is it possible to watch HD movies on the Xoom properly? So that it wont be lagging, like what they promise..
I ask because the Xoom I have used had a very poorly color calibrated screen, way off in accurate color, very washed out. If color isn't an issue for you, then no real reason not to seriously consider the Xoom.
As for movies, no idea.
Need to put those Asus ones into consideration, or wait what type of other ones are released or confirmed in the next month or two.
Otherwise it seems kind of.. i dunno.
The Thrive is crap compared to the Galaxy and Xoom, my wife LOVES toshiba products, so when the thrive came out, she gave it a try, it feels like a toy compared to the Xoom, very flimsy feeling. She's going to either get an Amazon tab, or a galaxy 8.9 or 7
Also it doesnt have the gorilla glass on the screen.. so I would be worrying quite a lot about scratching it. Never scratched any other electronics of mine but still..
So the Asus Transformer seems to have best of both worlds (minus 3g)
edit: Well, speak of the devil.. I did find one that claims to be 3G, and only for 499, when its generally around 599-699 euros in here. Sent in email to double check before I order tho..
The media edition seems interesting.
Glad I saved my money instead of purchasing a tablet just yet..
Only thing I am terrified is the possible price. That has to be atleast 500 gbp or more..
I see what you did there.
