So, about last weekend...

My wife and I got to meet Jewel Staite! Trek Expo in Tulsa OK had a 'Meet and Greet' option with several guests you could choose from; we picked Jewel, naturally. One hour with her and eleven other guests; it was really cool! Along with the included 'photo op' it was well worth the $65 tickets.

    I've met her once, I only got to talk to her for a minute or so though, it was at an autograph table. It was quite clear she was really enjoying meeting the fans, even after all these years and it shows again in your blog post :)

    If you really want to see how close the Firefly cast still are, I'm going to point you to this video from Dragon*Con last year :)

    When you watch a show and you meet someone from it and see how nice they are and how much fun they have with the other cast, it somehow makes that show much more enjoyable when you go back to it :)

    The hour you spent with Jewel sounds like it must have been the best hour of the entire convention. I may have to hate you too :)

    yeah, that panel they did at dragoncon was hilarious! It's a good watch.

    I agree with you, Worf, meeting someone in person and finding them as nice and personable as you imagined they would be definitely adds to the show when you rewatch!

    Easily the best part of the con; and that includes the B5 print signed by 20 cast members that we bought while we were there!

    For us it was worth the $65/ticket. I hope that Tulsa keeps doing this, and would like to see it spread to other cons (maybe others are doing it and I just didn't realize)!

    Wow very cool! Good job on meeting her. But a whole 1hr??!! Just a little jealous :D Loved her character in Firefly. So cute! The kinda girl you'd love to introduce to your parents.
