Well, this sucks.

Lord RefaLord Refa Creepy, but in a good way

I wake up this morning, start installing bluetooth drivers/software from asus on my netbook. Shows "removing bluetooth software", figure it's removing the old version to install new.. I go off to brush my teeth and when i get back, my desktops cleared and my own folder is empty. So long all the downloads etc.

And now I need to reinstall windows.

Sucks, but what can you do.

Funny enough, that it was caused by the update.. cuz only other things that I did was to come here and check kotaku before all hell broke loose..

    Maybe it couldnt handle the insanity here, and installing drivers just pushed it over the edge :D

    There's your problem, you don't go brush your teeth when installing anything in Windows.

    Today I booted up Windows 7 and guess what, it loaded the desktop in the lowest resolution possible. Another reboot and it was fixed, for no reason. Do you know how long Windows does this? That just shows that at its root it's still the same old garbage we got over two decades ago, it just looks nicer now. I have yet to see Linux or Mac OS do this...

    My desktop died last weekend. Took until today to get it running again.

    Managed to get some of the stuff saved by reinstalling windows without formatting.. after going over the files and saving them I did reinstall windows with full format and all.

    Anyway, from the logs I could find, most of the last notes were something to do with Windows Update.. which I do not have in automatic, and did not see any notifications either..

    So yea.. Could've been some virus, malware, or just a glitch in windows. :P

    Anyway. It's up and running again.

    And out of that 100 gb I lost, managed to save about 3 gb. Guess what? Porn.. yea.. I saved the porn atleast.. :D
