Having never actually played Portal...

I just discovered "Still Alive"....

Now I can't stop listening to it, even pulled the couple versions from the Orange box soundtrack off iTunes.....

What is wrong with me?

    When i finished Portal the first time (a week or so after it came out) and hit the end and "Still Alive" came on, i was literally rolling around laughing, talk about a brilliant end to the game, not just for the humor in it, but for the whole "Hey, guess what, you didn't kill me afterall, so F You!" of it all.

    I heard "Still Alive" long before I got the chance to play Portal. When I finally did, I was surprised by some bits of those song which were more... let's say "literal" than I'd initially thought.

    I played and beat Portal the night it came out. I loved it, and the song at the end was the icing on the cake.

    Then months later I'd see wannabe-nerds on classes showing the song to their friends. These were people who had never touched a Valve game in their life. I died a little inside.

    The first Valve game I played really was Portal. I did in fact play a bit of Half Life 2 before, but was kind of confused and didn't get far, but I had a lot of fun with Portal. Starting last November though, I started playing through the Half Life games, starting with the first one, which I actually did beat. I just finished up plaything through all the Half Life 2 episodes and everything, finishing up with a replay of Portal recently, this time noticing quite a few things that I missed before because I didn't know about the story of Half Life.
    In truth, I think I like Portal more than Half Life, though I did really enjoy the Half Life games.

    I started Half Life but only managed about an hour of gameplay before I became chronically bored of it and consigned it to the bin. I can't put my finger on why, but I completely hated it and have never been tempted to try it again

    DC: I think it might have been the first. Can't really remember anything about it given I played so little. It's like reading a book I guess, if yOu don't like it in the first few chapters then it's not worth finishing.

    I've played the original and HL2 + 2Ep1 + 2Ep2. I never played the one that came between HL and HL2 though that wasn't considered canon. I thought they were very well done games with good plot, unlike most out there.

    Nope, due to zero time. I just got a promotion at work that basically puts me at the helm of our business unit which just made my life a little crazy...
