    He was a huge part of my childhood, and one of my favourite comedic actors.

    The deadpan comedy had a large impact on my life, and defined some of my own sense of humour.

    Dont call him Shirley, indeed. :)

    Although as I said on irc, it's strangely fitting that Kershner died this year, that marks the 30th anniversary of the film he'll be best remembered for.

    I love Leslie Nielsen's deadpan style of comedy. It beats slapstick any day. He will be missed.

    He will be missed indeed. With that white hair he always seemed ageless to me. I remember a group of us at school were obsessed about Police Squad and the Naked Gun. Kept running of quotes all the time. He was a funny guy. And his scifi connection with Forbidden Planet cannot be forgotten either.

    My first memories of Leslie are not actually of his comedy, but as the Captain of the Poesidon in the Poesidon Adeventure. (one of my alltime favorite disater flicks)

    And even more it beats "rubber face" comedy of Jim Carrey etc.
