I am officially unemployed, at least for the weekend. After 11 years with the same employer (Emerson), my last day was Friday and on Tuesday, I will be starting anew with Mark Andy Inc. as a product manager.

It's strange. I had been with Emerson about a year when I found this place, so I've been here nearly as long....

I was offered a new job, well my first real one post Uni, on Friday too. I've had the weekend to think about it, and will formally accept it tomorrow, so its off to Newcastle for me, to the Freeman Hospital there. Let the flat hunting commence!

Also, I'm probably going to have to get a car! :D

Im getting a new job in october, and moving to the other side of Sweden, the other side of scandinavia if you count my last job (no, not Finland, Gotland).

Which means Ill be moving from a city of more that half a million to a town of 20000. On and island. In the middle of the Baltic Sea..

But its sweet, check it out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Visby (its the town that was the main inspiration for the town in Kikis delivery service)

P.S. I have no idea what either Emerson or Mark Andy Inc. does, but good luck with the new job :) D.S.

22k people? Thats a bustling metropolis, We have 10,000 on the Island, and about 2500 in the town i live in!, There were more people in the building my wife worked in in NYC then there are on this whole island!

I'm trying at the moment to get somewhere to stay sorted out. After 6 years of living with other people at Uni, and 6 years of crap flatmates, I'm determined to get a place to myself now. Ironically it seems that I may end up renting a 2 bedroom flat for myself, as they appear to be generally slightly cheaper than a 1 bedroom place! Suits me tho, then I get to have a room as my den ;)

I live in a place that would usually house a 3- or 4-person family (assuming the children are young). I tried the tiny Japanese one-room apartment thing. I lasted a year and a half, which was longer than I expected to.

The extra bedroom would certainly be handy for having guests, and for turning into a gaming room ;)

That is also a valid use of a spare room :D

It also provides a place to store the bodies.
