Did they only lose by a few goals?

They drew 1-1

Both English and US teams made it to the next round... not bad, not bad.

either way, it will be a rough game for US and England next round...Ghana is leading their group.

Goodbye Australia, goodbye Serbia.
They drew 1-1
Even if they fail miserably for the rest of the tournament, they're already heroes in NZ now for not rolling over and playing dead like they were supposed to when facing Italy. :D

And, Japan is through! Love that second free kick!

NZ never lost a match this WC, and they also beat Italy! :D

Air New Zealand named best long-haul airline. Gee, I wonder why? I mean it takes 24 hours to get there from any point in the world. :D

Therefore I posit that New Zealand's true location is somewhere between the Earth and the Moon. ;)

Wow that Japan game was great! Both those free kicks were amazing. I was sat there watching it with some friends, and we were all saying where on earth had the Japanese skill suddenly come from

Honda. That's where. :)
(But seriously, they whole team did great, I think that goal keeper has a personal grudge against the ball the way he goes after it).
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
Thats the way any goalkeeper worth his salt should behave.

"Kill the ball, kill it!!"

Thus ends the run of the US team, beaten 2-1 by Ghana.

And tomorrow we'll witness another World Cup classic, England vs. Germany.
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
I was sad to see the US team go. Ghana played a boring, ugly play the last 30 minutes, everyone in the team did their best to make the time pass quicker than it should..

Well, Korea lost but it was a great game. Intense :D
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
England is getting run over by Germany, still 15 minutes to play and the score is already 4-1. Unbelievable....
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
That was an appalling performance from England. Makes you wonder why Capello and the players earn several million a year. And the 5 star training facilities and hotels they were put up in....

No way to deny Germany thoroughly deserved to win, and I say that as a proud Englishman!
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
Wait a minute.. I thought you were a scot!
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
Absolutely not! I just have the misfortune of living there. In actuality i'm a Yorkshireman, I just moved here with my family when Dad got a job here in the oil industry. As soon as I finish my last placement at the end of August, I'm heading back down to England and never setting foot in Scotland again!
• HuntSmackerHuntSmacker Firstones Ambassador to Starcraftia
To be true England put in more effort than their previous games but it just wasn't enough.
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
Yeah, it was the way we should have started playing in the first match and then improved on. But there was no way we were suddenly going to improve as much as we would have needed to beat Germany
In actuality i'm a Yorkshireman
You say that like it's a good thing.
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
It's better than being Scottish! And everyones favourite Captain, Patrick Stewart, is a Yorkshireman! So there!:p
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
Are you suggesting you are going bald too? :D
• WORFWORF The Burninator
Make it so.
• ShadowDancerShadowDancer When I say, "Why aye, gadgie," in my heart I say, "Och aye, laddie." London, UK
No, I'm suggesting that I can order you around
• StingrayStingray Elite Ranger
I didn't know I joined Starfleet. :D
• MessiahMessiah Failed Experiment
Scotty or James Bond (Sean Connery version) would have a better chance of ordering me around than a bald french guy. :p
• Falcon1Falcon1 Elite Ranger
Well I've taken the day off tomorrow to watch Holland v Brazil :) Woot!
