Entil'ZhaEntil'Zha I see famous people
So Fox has this new action drama Human Target, Pilot was last sunday, new ep was last night,

I watched the pilot and who should show up, None other than Six (Tricia Helfer) Nifty I says to myself, nice to see her in something else.

So i watch this weeks show, and who should show up... Felix Gaeta (Alessandro Juliani)

IS that this shows gimick? new BSG actor every week? It's got me looking forward to next weeks show just to see....

  • Cottle was in the first episode as well.

I'm pretty sure the show is filmed in Canada (Vancouver), so that might explain the actors we're seeing.

Oh, and by the way, Bear McCreary scores each episode.

I thought the pilot showed promise. It's a shame I'm already recording two other shows Wednesday at the same time, I'll have to catch it online; not that it matters because it will likely be canceled.

Another tid-bit, this is Jon Steinberg's second major network show. His first was Jericho.

Is bear scoring the eps? i was wondering. I missed Doc Cottle!

The show does have promise, I have enjoyed it so far, I'm recording 2 things already, but lucky me i have two DVR's for now, until i tell Time Warner to take their crappy box and shove it up their... well you get the idea!
  • ...up their encounter-suited butts?

Yeah, You see Cottle in the second scene with whats-his-name (the guy from Watchmen).

Bear actually has a post up on his blog about the composition of the main theme, and talks through the scoring of the episode. Pretty cool stuff. I didn't pick up on it at first, but then when they were on the bullet train I heard a distinctive percussion moment (hard to explain, but a bit industrial and frequently heard in Galactica and Sarah Connor) and ran straight to IMDB to check.

The series has the talent behind it, but I'm afraid that it does not have broad enough appeal to last. I do enjoy the 'anti-hero'ish approach to the main character.

If we weren't as satisfied as we currently are with Dish (and still under contract) I'd consider AT&T with its ability to record 4 shows at once. And to think I once thought "Who the heck would need to record four shows!?"

If i didnt have all these damn trees in my way, i'd go back to DirecTV,the picture quality blows time warner out of the water, plus with DirecTV, all those shows that say "Broadcast in 5.1" i actually GET in 5.1. not so with Time Warner... bleh
  • Woah, Time Warner doesn't send 5.1 where you are? I can't speak to our area, but that's pretty crappy.

I'm always disappointed when I have to watch a movie on Max or Showtime, and the picture is HD but the sound is 2.0; it's rare, but it does happen and it's an affront to my amateur cinephile-ness!

Trees can be dealt with...oh yes...but you have to be careful the 10ft blue people with tails don't come after you for killing their planet.
  • BigglesBiggles The Man Without a Face
That's OK. This one isn't their planet, giving us the moral highground.

eventually i may get some of the trees cut back, as they are all on my property, but tree-pruning here is expensive!

and yes, many things that are "Broadcast in 5.1" come through as 2.0
